Representation Criteria 
 

Selection Principles for Hong Kong Team Members



Principle 1 - Eligibility of Athletes

Athletes must be registered with HKAAA for no less than 1 year and fulfill the following respective eligibility.

Macau/Guangzhou/HK Inter-city

Age Group Athletic Meet,

Inter-port Athletic Meet,

Summer Invitational Athletic Meet,

1. Current resident in Hong Kong for no less than one year and

2. Achieved the HKAAA selection standard before the respective deadline

II) Invitational International Meetings

 

All China Indoor Athletic Champs,

All China Athletic Champs,

Chinese Taipei T&F/Marathon Champs,

Thailand T&F/Marathon Champs,

Philippines T&F/Marathon Champs,

Malaysia T&F/Marathon Champs,

Vietnam T&F/Marathon Champs,

Singapore T&F/Marathon Champs,

Macau/Beijing/Pattaya/Songkla International Marathon,

Zao-Bodaira International Cross Country

Seoul International Women's Road Relay

1. Current resident in Hong Kong for 3 consecutive years or more; and

2. Achieved the HKAAA selection standard before the respective deadline

 

 

III)World/Area/Regional Championship

 

World Athletic/Half Marathon/Marathon Champs

World Indoor Champs in Athletics

World Cross Country Champs

World Cup in Athletics

World Race-walking Cup

Asian Athletic/Half Marathon/Marathon Champs

Asian Indoor Athletic Champs

Asian Cross Country Champs

Asian Grand Prix

Asian All Stars Athletic Champs

 

1. Current resident in Hong Kong for 7 consecutive years or more; and

22. Holders of HKSAR/BNO/British (under the British Nationality Selection Scheme) passports, or Holders of passports of other nationalities for non-Chinese residents who were born and raised in Hong Kong before 1997; and

3. Achieved the IAAF/AAAA/HKAAA selection standard before the respective deadline; and

4. Met the selection criteria/rules required by the IAAF/AAAA

IV) Multi-Sports Games

 

Olympics Games

Asian Games

East Asian Games

All China National Games

 

1. Current resident in Hong Kong for 7 consecutive years or more; and

2. Holders of HKSAR/BNO/British (under the British Nationality Selection Scheme) passports, or Holders of passports of other nationalities for non-Chinese residents who were born and raised in Hong Kong before 1997;and

* Holders of China Re-Entry Permit(回鄉証) for the All China National Games

3. Achieved the selection standard before the respective deadline; and

4. Met the selection criteria/rules as defined by the respective Sports Authorities/NOC/Selection Panel

Principle 2

The Physical fitness, discipline, ability of entering the final, etc. will be considered during the selection.

Principle 3

Record breakers who do not attain the required selection standards may be considered in all selections.

Principle 4

Selected athletes may be required to go through a fitness test prior to the competition.
