一年一度的「港鐵競步賽」現正接受報名。今年,參賽者可以再次與其他國家的競步好手一同?加「港鐵競步賽2008」 的男子及女子精英組賽事。

港鐵公司一向致力推廣步行身體好的訊息,並繼續與香港業餘田徑總會攜手舉辦「地鐵競步賽2008」。自二零零五起,競步賽吸引了接近3,000名參賽者;而「港鐵競步賽2008」將於二零零八年四月二十日在中環商業中心地段舉行。請即報名參加,成為全港最大型競步賽事的一份子!

It's time again for the annual MTR HONG KONG Race Waling competition. Again this year, participants can join with the top tier Race Walking athletes from different countries taking part in the Men's and Women's Elite competitiions of the "MTR HONG KONG Race Walking 2008".

As part of the MTR Cororation's commitment to promote healthy living, the Corporation continues to join hands with the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association (HKAAA) to organise the "MTR HONG KONG Race Walking 2008". Since The 2005, the competitions have attracted nearly 3,000 race walkers to take part. The "MTR HONG KONG Race Walking 2008" is scheduled to take place on 20 April 2007 in the heart of the Central business district. Register now and be part of the biggest event of its kind in Hong Kong.

 

競步是什麼? What is Race Walking?

競步是從普通走路的基礎上發展出來的,運動員競步時雙腳不能同時離地, 而前腿須伸直。競步可鍛鍊運動員的身體協調和耐力,與跑步相比,競步是一項低撞擊運動,對關節的傷害亦較小,適合普羅大眾參與。

Race Walking is developed from normal walking. Athletes are required to keep ar least one foot on the ground at all time while the advancing leg should be kept straight. Race Walking develops an athlete's body coordination and endurance. It is a low impact sport when compared to running, with a lower possibility of joint injuries, making it suitable for a wide spectrum of the general public to participate in.

Race Walking os simple and convenient to do-all you need is a pair of sports shoes, simple sports wear and flat area. No special equipment is required. Race Walking also has the following health benefits :

•It helps build up and maintain healthy bones, muscles and joints
