Application for Sanction Policy

1. Application for sanction must be submitted to the Association at least 3 months in advance of the event, and addressed to the Executive Director of HKAAA. Details of the event and number of key officials (e.g. Referee or Chief Judges) to be invited should also be submitted to HKAAA Office no less than 30 days before the event, with enclosing the following information:

a) Programme & entry form

b) Specification of Implements

c) Competition Schedule (with the following details)

i. Time of each events

ii. Number of participants of each event in each category

iii. Means of launching the 800m (by lanes/by group)

iv. Route map for distance running events (including the locations of starting line, finishing line, U-turn point, km markers, water stations and first aid station)

v. Copies of permits required by the related authorities.

vi. Copy of insurance coverage

2. Chief Referee & Starter of the meet must be registered judges of HKAAA.

3. The meet should be conducted in accordance with IAAF/AAAA/WAVA/HKAAA rules.

4. For performances to be included in the Hong Kong rankings or records, at least one HKAAA's Technical Delegate should be assigned to supervise the organization of the Meet. A fee of HK$2,000 will be charged for the deployment of each HKAAA's Technical Delegate. In addition, the organizer may request the HKAAA to send Technical Officials to assist the organization of the Meet. Charges will be based on the standard official fee.

5. Applications for sanction of events are opened to all clubs, HKAAA reserves the right to give sanction to any event at its total discretion. HKAAA also reserves the right to sent observer(s) to any sanctioned event to ensure that the meet is conducted properly.

Remarks:

Sanctions will not be necessary for the following competitions:

i. HKAAA organized meets / events.

ii. Competitions organized by affiliated clubs on behalf of HKAAA provided that all HKAAA requirements are met.
